  • Frank Delaney is a fascinating scholar of Joyce, and he's so funny. I dearly wish he was still alive to thank him for this great labour of love in helping to democratize Ulysses.

  • A note to a close friend and teacher.

    Dear Frank,

Thank you. Thank you for being the most captivating literary guide I’ve ever heard. Your wit, wisdom and the most incredible tangents you could wish for. I loved every moment of your paragraph by paragraph tour of Ulysses. I made it through Covid thanks to you and the Re:Joyce podcast. I’m not sure I’ll ever find such an storyteller/guide into the world of Joyce but I’m thrilled to have discovered you. I’m off to enjoy the rest of Joyce and your own works as well.

    Cheers!

  • Sadly Frank Delaney (1942 - 2017) is no longer with us, but for those hardy souls who want to get a start on Ulysses and move slowly through the book I can't imagine a better companion. Delaney clearly loved the book and his exuberance is infectious, he projects just the right combination of enthusiasm and erudition to get the most recalcitrant reader started on Joyce's magnum opus.

  • The most entertaining way to enjoy Joyce

Frank Delaney is one of the great entertainers, erudite scholars of Joyce and loves this book. It is a great tragedy he never got to finish it but if you want to be impressed, entertained and thoroughly enjoy Ulysses you should listen to this. I know of nothing like it.
