Reviews

4.9 out of 5 stars from 50 ratings
  • Host needs to change a bit

The subjects are very interesting but the host needs professional podcast training. The host is constantly grunting and “uh-huh”ing during interviews. This is common during real life conversation, but typically podcasters try to avoid it so that the guest can say everything clearly and uninterrupted.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

¿Cuba libre?
Q: How do Havana Syndrome incidents influence U.S. policy toward Cuba and its allies?
They reinforce concerns about Russian, and potentially other adversaries' influence in the region, complicating diplomatic efforts and demonstrating the importance of safeguarding diplomats and intelligence personnel while pursuing a sanctions-based strategy.
¿Cuba libre?
Q: What has surprised you most about the recent trajectory toward maximum pressure on the Cuban regime?
The panel highlights that sanctions, indictments, and a hardened stance have shifted the regime away from any quick appeasement, suggesting a deliberate pivot after failed negotiations and a sustained focus on accountability and isolation of regime supporters.
Immigration as a Weapon
Q: What actions does the host suggest to counter weaponized immigration?
The host suggests sealing the border, dismantling foreign political networks operating inside the U.S., and addressing the broader immigration system with careful reforms to reduce vulnerability to foreign influence and manipulation.
Immigration as a Weapon
Q: How does the guest characterize the role of birthright citizenship in China's strategy?
The guest argues that birthright citizenship is exploited through birth tourism organized by the Chinese Communist Party, enabling a large number of individuals born in the U.S. to gain citizenship and future influence, thereby serving strategic aims and presenting a vulnerability for the U.S.
Immigration as a Weapon
Q: What is the Mariel template and why is it significant in discussions of weaponized immigration?
The Mariel template refers to Castro's 1980 mass emigration, which the guest describes as a strategic move to create social disruption and export unsettled individuals to the United States, illustrating how immigration can be used as a weapon to affect national security and demographics.
