  • These two turned me into a theme park sicko.

I started listening to this podcast back in 2024, after a vacation to Florida and we spent a day at Universal and a day at Magic Kingdom. I was a casual fan at that point, never been to the parks very much as an adult but had a ton of fun when I visited. I’ve learned SO much from this podcast and they have officially turned me into a theme park sicko. Literally. Ask my husband, I talk about rides with him constantly haha!

I am so hyped to ride Cosmic Rewind for the first time this November!

  • New Coaster Buddies

I’m late to the party for this podcast. Just found out about these guys recently while listening to Podcast The Ride. I love that unlike PTR (no shade) these guys talk about roller coasters too, not just rides. Enjoying listening to the back catalogue with my new coaster buddies.

  • Love you guys but…

Bring back more episodes about specific rides and running them through the test. The list episodes are fine every now and then, but lately it feels like you’re just trying to stretch this thing out. I get that you want to extend the life of the podcast, but it’s just been a bummer to not have as much of the original concept of the podcast to listen to. I say this all as a fan and you don’t owe me anything by any means, so I hope you don’t take it negatively.

Disney World's 2026 Summer Updates and Enhancements
Q: What metrics indicate a ride should be refurbished or updated?
Utilization and throughput (how many people the ride can entertain and the wait times) are key indicators; if a ride isn't drawing expected crowds, it may be refreshed.
Top 10 Theme Park Illusions with Zach Wally
Q: What makes Mystery Lodge stand out as the top illusion for you?
Its disappearance of the storyteller at the end, achieved through Pepper's Ghost and precise timing, is a masterclass in practical effects that feels both intimate and spectacular, and it has a storied, almost legendary status among theme park fans.
Top 10 Theme Park Illusions with Zach Wally
Q: Why did you rank the Stretching Room so highly?
Because it solves a logistical problem with a simple, elegant solution that still feels magical; the room literally moves, selling the illusion in a way that players expected to see on a ride despite the minimal tech.
Leslie Iwerks - Crafting "Handcrafted"
Q: How long was the process for making this film from idea to finish?
The process was interrupted over several years due to various factors, including changes at Disney Plus and the need for development funding.
Leslie Iwerks - Crafting "Handcrafted"
Q: What was more challenging, directing your first documentary feature in 1999, which was Hand Behind the Mouse, or did you find your latest film, Disneyland Handcrafted, to be more challenging?
Leslie Iwerks found directing her first documentary, Hand Behind the Mouse, more challenging as it was her first experience and involved rediscovering her grandfather.
