  • Went looking for Gale, stayed for Tim

I found this podcast indirectly through Baldur’s Gate 3. Tim does an incredible job as Gale and I wanted to see if he narrated any audiobooks. Lo and behold he has an entire podcast with his pal Justin! I love all things witchy and supernatural so this was right up my alley. It’s been so lovely listening to two friends traverse the country, meeting new people and discovering new places along the way. Binged the entire series, can’t wait for the next episode!

  • Just superb! A true masterclass in both entertainment and education

I'm kicking myself for only just discovering this gem of a podcast. Tim and Justin don't just present folklore – they bring it to life with contagious enthusiasm and scholarly depth. Each episode weaves together meticulous research, illuminating expert interviews, and haunting dramatic readings by celebrated actors. It's like having a pint with brilliant storytellers who happen to be folklore scholars. A true masterclass in both entertainment and education.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Dalby Spook
Q: Do you think there's any connection between satyrs and other sort of hominid, yeti type creatures, or that's a completely different thing?
Some of the early Greek representations of them, they don't have horns and hooves.
The Dalby Spook
Q: Is there any suggestion then that they built a house somewhere where the fairies, the spirits, had some sort of grounding already?
I've never heard that, but it wouldn't surprise me.
The Day of the Druids
Q: What drew you particularly to it?
The outdoor ritual and the poetic words of the ritual are very beautiful and meaningful.
Hellfire & Damnation part 1
Q: Have you been down there many times on your own?
I do cave checks at the end of every day to make sure no one's down there, and when you join, they make you do it on your own. It's terrifying.
PlantLore
Q: Do you think COVID encouraged more people to rediscover nature or to be interested in things around them?
No, it's rather sad because over the other side of the main road there, we have Bedford Woods... So it wasn't persistent.
