Brilliant, so full of literary, cultural insights, folklore and history. Two brilliant creative intellects I love joining you for a cup of tea or a ramble through the countryside. Thank you and bless your cotton socks! From the land down under. 🙌✨
My favorite podcast currently! Manages to walk the line of being very cozy and a little spooky, while also covering lots of information. I personally don’t know much about English folklore, so I’ve loved hearing the stories and listening to Justin and Tim discuss them. Also really enjoy the guest interviews as well -- I learn something new each episode!
Obsessed! So glad I found this. Wonderful exploration of folklore with sound, interesting and funny people that you wish you could go for a walk and a pint with - what more could you want?
I love this podcast - the rambling pace, humour and obscure references to 1970s afternoon folk horror shows for kids pair well with the folk investigations and the music and readings work really well so you can ‘see’ what you hear.
I love this podcast and have started listening to them from the beginning again. Interesting, funny and intriguing I feel like I’m walking right beside them on each adventure

Two hosts explore English folklore, history, and place-based storytelling with on-site field trips, archival context, and thoughtful interviews. Episodes span Whitby's gothic landscape, living rituals like Morris dancing and horn dances, cryptozoology tangents, and hands-on investigations of local culture, crafts, and museums. A notable edge is the seamless blend of travelogue, scholarly discussion, and personal anecdotes, often featuring expert guests who deepen understanding of folklore, history, and its modern relevance. The show likely appeals to listeners who enjoy cozy, atmospheric storytelling grounded in deep research and a sense of place, with an emphasis on living traditions rather than purely theoretical history.
