  • Straight from farmers and ranchers

I enjoy hearing from leaders in agriculture from across many sectors, but the most interesting is hearing from U.S. farmers and ranchers. These men and women are the generational leaders of stewardship and it's interesting to hear how they practice sustainability, both in good times and bad.

Bonus: Keeping an eye on Make America Healthy Again
Q: What topics are you keeping an eye on that will have a positive and/or negative impact on agriculture?

Inside Illinois Corn’s Precision Conservation Management Program
Q: Walk us through the Precision Conservation Management checklist and how a farmer gets started.
Farmers begin by visiting precisionconservation.org, where they use Find My Specialist to locate a regional PCM partner. The process doesn't require universal county coverage; PCM operates in roughly 60-70 percent of Illinois counties and extends into Kentucky, Nebraska, and Missouri. After connecting with a conservation specialist, farmers gather and share field-level data—dates for planting, tillage, and spraying—and use this data to generate an annual Resource Analysis and Assessment Plan, which benchmarks performance and identifies opportunities for improvement.
