  • Positive, consistent, dedicated

The team behind this podcast bring information that’s new and fascinating all the time. It’s a great source. I enjoy the fact that the podcasts are only as long as they need to be. They do play a little piece of music between elements too often though. Upgraded that please!

  • Nice but very high-level/general perspective

I’m a sustainability professional and although I really like the topics of this podcast, I think the conversations are very hard to get something concrete out of, as the complexity is so high that they often end up having very general discussions. I wish they would take point of departure in something concrete to exemplify the complex. And please do a wrap up in the end😊

  • We all need to listen to this podcast

This is the best place to gain knowledge and intuition about what a circular economy means, as well as the steps we are taking, and need to take, to get there.

Talking Points

Is it game over for the CSO?
Q: Has the advice you're giving to businesses evolved in recent years, and are you pivoting your own approach accordingly?
Yes—the focus has moved from pure target-setting to integrating sustainability into the business case, governance, and long-term planning, while adapting to a faster pace and shorter decision cycles.
Is it game over for the CSO?
Q: How can the CSO navigate threats like greenhushing and ensure effective external engagement and market transformation?
By shifting reporting and accountability toward finance, strengthening external stakeholder engagement, and aligning sustainability with enterprise-wide governance and decision rights so that strategic priorities translate into action across the organization.
Is it game over for the CSO?
Q: Amid cost inflation, geopolitical conflict and an ever-changing global business landscape, is it game over for the traditional CSO?
No—it's changing. The CSO is transitioning from a standalone conscience to a role that embeds sustainability across finance, corporate affairs, and operations, reconciling long-term strategic goals with near-term business needs.
Can paper fix the flexibles problem?
Q: Could you tell us a little bit about Unilever's work there and why flexibles are important to the organization?
Unilever acknowledges its role in the plastic pollution challenge and explains a multi-year commitment to invest in R&D and deploy paper-based flexibles at scale, aiming to reduce plastic use while ensuring safety, performance, and affordability across markets.
Inside IKEA's strategy: building a resilient circular business
Q: Is a one-size-fits-all approach possible for different countries when implementing circular services?
No; IKEA relies on a menu of localized circular services that fit different markets, supported by ongoing insights and trends studies to adapt offerings to local needs while maintaining a global framework.
