  • Love my weekly fix

Really enjoy listening to this podcast, it has a great balance of pop culture topics and is easy to listen to. Often great recs for tv and books too. The only thing is it often has very similar content / takes to the weekly Shameless podcast and sometimes feels like a bit of a copy

  • Everything is 10/10

I have been religiously listening to this podcast for over a year now and even though the girls prompt a review I have only just figured out how to do it. But alas, without a doubt a 5 star, the best podcast I listen to! The relevant hot topics, the debates, the intellectual discussion, the balanced arguments, I look forward to this every week and I genuinely feel it sparks interesting thoughts into important current affairs. Although I feel myself becoming more feminist by the day, I would enco... more

  • Too many monologues

Again girls probably needs to be less monologues and quotes from articles and more back and forth. There’s no natural banter. Maybe listen to Shameless podcast for examples.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Everything In Conversation: Bringing Back 'Queenie' With Candice Carty-Williams
Q: What was the reality of adapting Queenie for TV, given the strong feedback and industry pressures you described?
The adaptation process was challenging due to risk-averse production environments, but remaining true to the core of Queenie and listening to the creators who know the character best helped me push through the friction and keep the project authentic.
Everything In Conversation: Bringing Back 'Queenie' With Candice Carty-Williams
Q: Do you feel that Queenie is almost a living entity in the world and you touch back in with her through your creative process?
Queenie is a vessel and a living framework I return to when exploring big themes. I write from a place of observation and experience, letting her world evolve while staying true to who she is, so that each return feels like catching up with an old friend who's grown and changed.
Everything In Conversation: Ozempic, The Death of Body Positivity & The Price Of Pretty With Alex Light
Q: What inspired you to write The Price of Pretty?
Her decade-long journalism career, personal experience with eating disorders, and a drive to explore beauty standards and body image, plus her earlier book.
Everything In Conversation: Tradwife Propaganda, Social Media & Yesteryear With Caro Claire Burke
Q: How did you approach Natalie's consciousness and the decision to present her perspective so intimately?
By immersing readers in her internal world, I aimed to show how she perceives events and social signals, even when those signals conflict with reality, thereby inviting readers to question what they would do in her place.
Everything In Conversation: Tradwife Propaganda, Social Media & Yesteryear With Caro Claire Burke
Q: What inspired you to write a novel that intertwines a tradwife figure with a modern, tech-driven social landscape?
I was drawn to the tension between ideals marketed online and the messy, embodied realities of being a woman today, and I wanted to explore how generations react to those pressures, while also examining how power, performance, and motherhood intersect in a way that isn't black and white.
