Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

77: Tom Keogh, Founder and Managing Director at Keogh's Farm
Q: How did Keogh's transition from farm to branded crisps happen?
The shift started with recognizing the need to differentiate a commodity product (potatoes) and to respond to changing consumer preferences; a brand with a strong farmer story and convenience became essential. Tom experimented with in-farm production, created a recognizable brand, and leveraged direct in-store promotions to win shelf space and consumer trust.
75: Colin Kennedy, Operations and Technology Leader and Board Member at DPD Ireland
Q: Tell us about DPD Ireland and how the business has evolved over the last few years.
DPD Ireland has grown from a traditionally B2B-focused operation to a consumer-facing leader, with a strong emphasis on reliability, customer experience, and rapid growth post-COVID. They've built a 99% service level, developed a deep consumer relationship, and are expanding Out of Home lockers to meet rising demand for convenience and sustainability.
74: David Petherbridge, Managing Director at RKD
Q: Where do you see RKD in the next 20 years?
Change will be embraced, with growth through a mix of organic development and selective acquisitions, continuing to lead in high-tech and data-driven projects while maintaining a people-centric culture and robust project governance.
74: David Petherbridge, Managing Director at RKD
Q: What's your history then within the company?
I joined RKD straight from college as a student, worked my way up from the bottom, and stayed through the evolution of the practice as it grew into a modern, multi-sector firm with a strong design and leadership culture.
74: David Petherbridge, Managing Director at RKD
Q: So, RKD, over 100 years old. Tell me how the company has evolved over that period.
The firm started as Robinson Architects, evolved through Robinson Keef, and later Robinson Keef and Devan, solidifying RKD as the modern practice it is today. We've moved from a geographically based operation to a sectorized, globally oriented studio, embracing technology and collaboration while maintaining a strong sense of heritage.
