  • Love love love

It's not high culture, but makes no pretence to be. But it is great and easy listening. Sometimes it's nice to just listen to things for fun and for the sake of it, rather than constantly wanting to optimise things, learn something, or improve yourself.

  • Better without Louis

I’ve been listening for ages and recently went back to the beginning to cover all the episodes I missed and I have to say the podcast was far stronger before Louis became a permanent host, and is much better now without him. Not to be a hater but as a guest he was so much fun, but as a cohost he just started taking up all the air in the room, everything became “slay this” and “snaps for that” in a way that just felt like a performance. Really loving the current lineup

  • Worst advice, bad pronunciation and it’s gets worse by the episode

I love the premise of this pod but it’s so so bad. The advice is so so bad. The latest one about a friend constantly sleeping with men friends are saying / married / fresh exes of friends. Hello? You are who you associate with of course they should end the friendship. I want to like this pod so much but this is literally getting more self indulgent and annoying by the episode

  • I’m only here for the stories

I had a break from listening because the immaturity is hard to get through. Constantly trying to “Start” something. The secret hand shake, and then need to create more, when you forget it anyway

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Confessional: The neighbour I couldn't escape
Q: What steps did you take to protect yourself?
Setting clear boundaries, keeping doors and gates secure, using a recording device, installing a doorbell camera, and ultimately involving the police after realizing the behavior was a known pattern and could harm others as well.
The Confessional: The neighbour I couldn't escape
Q: How did the situation start to escalate beyond casual neighbor chats?
It progressed from routine small talk to constant visits and pressure to drink, followed by increasingly intrusive behavior and disregard for boundaries, which made the survivor feel unsafe in their own home.
The Confessional: My mother, the narcissist
Q: What are you doing now to help others who have experienced similar dynamics?
I work as a somatic coach, helping women reconnect with their own needs, build inner safety, and re-center themselves after narcissistic or coercive-control abuse.
The Confessional: My mother, the narcissist
Q: How did you come to realize what was happening and seek help?
Through studying psychology, therapy, and then trauma-focused approaches; recognizing the pattern allowed me to start de-centering her and focusing on my own healing.
The Confessional: My mother, the narcissist
Q: What did your relationship with your mom look like when you were growing up?
It was all about her, with constant messages that I existed to serve her needs; I learned to suppress my own feelings and needs for fear of being punished or ignored.
