  • Not Biased?

In the latest episode, it is stated that Reuters, the Associated Press, BBC, and NPR are the least biased news networks. Really, NPR? I have been noticing the very subtle liberal leanings of this podcast that have surfaced over the last few months. Not so subtle anymore. Please, no matter how thinly veiled, leave any political agendas out of this podcast. I really enjoy this show, but, for me personally, liberalism doesn’t mix with Christianity.

  • Love it!

I have been listening off and on for a couple years now. I really love Laura and her compassion for others! I appreciate the kind way she speaks and how she encourages me to show love and kindness to my younger self (having faced childhood trauma on several levels). Thank you for honoring God on your podcast!

  • Affairs are caused by Satan?

Listened with interest and hope to the episode about boundaries and affairs to discover the number one reason people have affairs is “Satan”. I thought this was a podcast by a clinical professional but, nope. Utter lack of critical thought by yet another Christian wingnut

Mental Health Q&A: Trends, Self-Diagnosis & When to Seek Counseling
Q: What would you say to someone who has a fear of making mistakes in situations?
Everybody struggles with perfectionism and fear of error, but building tolerance to mistakes is essential. Start by allowing small missteps, observe bodily responses, and learn that one mistake does not define your value or worth.
Mental Health Q&A: Trends, Self-Diagnosis & When to Seek Counseling
Q: How would you recommend counseling for others in a non-offensive way?
Approach it through relationship and boundaries, favoring curiosity and organic conversations. In close relationships, you can suggest counseling by sharing what you're learning about yourself rather than diagnosing them, while in more distant connections it's usually best not to push counseling at all.
Mental Health Q&A: Trends, Self-Diagnosis & When to Seek Counseling
Q: How do I know if I need counseling?
Counseling is beneficial for most people at some point, particularly when there are developmental or relational dynamics from upbringing that haven't been resolved. The decision to seek counseling depends on how stuck you feel, whether information isn't translating into change, and a willingness to explore changes with a relational, developmental lens.
Mental Health Q&A: Trends, Self-Diagnosis & When to Seek Counseling
Q: What are some mental health trends in 2026 that I should be looking out for?
There are practical trends like using brick devices to curb unneeded phone usage, a clearer distinction between true emotional regulation and surface calm, and greater awareness of boundaries with parents and social circles. Self-diagnosis remains a risk if people rely on online tools rather than a professional evaluation, and there's growing emphasis on seeking counseling even for non-major issues to support ongoing mental wellness.
Everything in Moderation
Q: What area do you struggle with in moderation?
Identify either being too rigid or too out of control without shame and find a small way to move towards moderation.
