Regarding The Good Lord Bird, the guest didn't watch it so his opinion doesn't matter but Prysner's insistence that it should have been more dour or whatever is another one of his weird, liberal foibles along the lines of getting mad at people for saying "Trump derangement syndrome." Neither John Brown nor Frederick Douglas are portrayed as anything but correct and heroic, at the end of the day.
