  • Shouldn’t be aired

Host has zero judgment. I’ll never forget tuning in to WUNC, at noon on a Friday, and the first words I heard were “sex toys” and “penises.”

You shouldn’t have to worry about turning on NPR with little ones in the car.

  • Highly, highly recommend!

Anita, listening to your show is like having a meaningful conversation with a good friend.

I grew up in the US, India, and Germany; my parents are from Hyderabad, like your dad, and while they’re both Indian, they’re from different religious backgrounds, so your conversations about navigating multiple identities and third-culture kids resonate deeply.

‘You Don’t Become a Witch, You Remember That You Are One’
Q: What was the turning point that brought you back to your intuitive gifts after years of suppression?
The convergence of a book gifted by a friend, a transformative tarot reading, and a pivotal moment at a psychic fair that pressured me to address my relationship with Jesus and pursue a more integrated spiritual path.
‘You Don’t Become a Witch, You Remember That You Are One’
Q: How do you differentiate between intuition and magic, and how do they relate to each other in your practice?
Intuition is the inner knowing or small voice that guides decisions, while magic is the conscious practice of shifting consciousness—using intuition as the raw material to transform how one experiences reality.
The Healing Power Of Horror
Q: How did the Dozier School story influence The Reformatory and your approach to ghosts in fiction?
Ghosts serve as witnesses and revenants of real survivors, providing a space for preserving memory and pushing for justice while weaving a hopeful, human-centered narrative.
The Healing Power Of Horror
Q: What makes horror effective as a healing tool rather than mere fright?
A balance of entertainment with emotional distance (via fantasy or supernatural elements) allows readers to confront fear and trauma without being retraumatized.
