Elon Musk's visions of the future all stem from the same place: the science-fiction he grew up on. To understand where Musk wants to take the rest of us - with his electric cars, his rockets to Mars, his meme stocks, and tunnels deep beneath the earth — Harvard professor and New Yorker writer Jill Lepore looks at those science fiction stories and helps us understand what Musk missed about them. Until “anti”-racist diatribe was shoehorned into more or less the entirety of episode 2. So; not really about rockets at all. I’m still inclined to give episode 3 a chance though; there is a lot to hold out for!
I was going to give this a two-star review for clear bias and intentional lack of understanding, but after it delved into straight-up leftist propaganda, I could no longer bring myself to listen to this rubbish.
But closing comments a bit of a damp squib
This is one of the worst podcasts I’ve ever heard. I gave it a couple episodes too. Podcasts are 100% a good place to express opinions, but when you do it under the guise of history and fact, it comes off as either ignorant or evil. Obviously, there are some facts given, about Elon (whether in general or specific) but from there they play that game from Office Space….. jump to conclusions.
Thankfully, Jill appeared on the The World radio program to advertise this podcast and gave us a preview of the academy gobbledygook it will contain. Her loathing of Mr. Musk is clear and personal, and her conclusions and “isms” are absurd. And yes, she even coined an insult for those who might disagree. Glad I won’t have to waste my time.
