Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#161: Dry, Pulverize, Sanitize: Turning Industrial Waste Into New Resources with ADAR Technologies
Q: So how did you get started with ADAR, and what's the status of the company today?
The company started in 2022, Gen 5 is in deployment with an R&D center in the US and Europe, and the team has tested many feedstocks, emphasizing that throughput and anchor customers per use case drive commercial growth.
#156: Ammonia: The Compound That Could Power a Cleaner Planet with Ammobia
Q: How do you plan to implement this technology at scale?
Starting from a tiny lab reactor, Ammobia has progressed to a pre-pilot and will move to a pilot to de-risk the reactor, then roll out a modular, 250 t/day plant with first customer demonstrations and eventually full commercial deployment.
#156: Ammonia: The Compound That Could Power a Cleaner Planet with Ammobia
Q: What are you doing differently that allows Ammobia to deliver cleaner, better, faster, cheaper ammonia production?
Ammobia innovates on the Haber-Bosch process by introducing new materials in the reactor, allowing operation at much lower pressure and temperature, and achieving higher conversion efficiency, which together reduce costs, enable cleaner production, and permit closer-to-site manufacturing.
#159: Combining Robotics and Mass Timber For Modular Urban Buildings with Intelligent City
Q: Are you doing training programs for people who want to learn mass timber construction and the new methods you're using?
Yes, they are considering a learning center and conduct learning sessions for architects, engineers, and trades, including lunch-and-learns and on-project education to help trades understand how to work with mass timber and prefab systems.
#159: Combining Robotics and Mass Timber For Modular Urban Buildings with Intelligent City
Q: To start off, can you walk us through your process? We'd love to learn a little bit more and have the listeners know what the process looks like from start to finish.
Intelligent City engages early in design, providing design assist and pre-construction feedback to ensure components can be manufactured efficiently. After planning matures, they ramp up their factory, produce building components, and then on-site construction uses large pre-made pieces that fit together much like Ikea components, allowing rapid assembly.
