  • Uses and Ad Network

I used to like listening to this podcast until they began utilizing advertisements from random advertisers at the beginning of every episode. I don’t have a problem with podcasts doing their own ads or sharing their sponsorship, but this feels super cheap and cheapens the Circe brand/podcast network. Really McDonalds ads?

Dwell Webinar—The Keys to Teaching Language in the Elementary Years: Narration and Dictation
Q: Is narration in one's own words or verbatim? Are we asking for verbatim or-
Narration is usually in one's own words, with verbatim repetition acceptable but not required; the emphasis is on meaning and sense-making rather than exact replication.
Dwell Webinar—The Keys to Teaching Language in the Elementary Years: Narration and Dictation
Q: Can I jump in with something? So I think that the length of the narrations and the length of the dictations are really appropriate to levels, grades one and two about, and the content.
The hosts explain that pacing should fit the child's readiness, with level-based progression and teacher discretion to adjust as needed.

Q: How can homeschooling groups or co-ops arrange CLT testing for a group of students?
Homeschool groups can arrange group testing by contacting CLT via the dedicated homeschool email, with the option to test CLT and CLT-10 or other grade levels for a group, and CLT supports group testing arrangements for homeschool communities.

Q: What does the CLT test look like in terms of sections and content, and how is it different from other standardized tests like the ACT or SAT?
The CLT includes four verbal passages with questions, four grammar/writing passages, and a quantitative/reasoning section. It emphasizes timeless texts and critical thinking rather than purely automated testing or superficial questions, and it avoids simplifying passages or questions. It also includes a broad author bank and avoids Greek/Latin-specific knowledge requirements.

Q: Okay. So CLT is being positioned in a similar space to PSAT in terms of scholarships; is CLT 10 available for younger students and how does it interact with scholarship opportunities?
CLT 10 is designed for 9th and 10th graders to access scholarship opportunities, with colleges sometimes recognizing scores from those grades; CLT uses multiple scores (per section and total) and offers a separate CLT 10 scholarship along with other scholarship considerations. Families can test multiple times for the best score, and scores can be shared with colleges for consideration.
