  • Awesome Podcast

You think you can talk about different summer ball league for college player. Like Northwoods, Texas Collegiate League, MINK.

How to get there, how to choose.

  • Disappointing

Just nothing of depth here. Just two guys agreeing with each other.

  • Must follow

Outstanding content. Great guests (mostly coaches) and the back and forth is great. You start to hear reoccurring themes from the guests. That is a good thing.

  • Good stuff

Really good podcast. I just wish they had more guests. I enjoy the episodes where they talk to college coaches. They ask great questions and the back and forth flows well.

  • Why such pauses?

Would probably be good content if you could get past the really long pauses between responses and then the acknowledgement they the response has ended… I have to keep looking at my phone to see if the podcast stopped because the host waits so long to say anything. Annoying.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Building Princeton Baseball — New Head Coach Ryan Forrest on Recruiting, Pitching & Analytics | Ep. 182
Q: How do you identify and evaluate recruits?
We rely on strong relationships with high school and travel coaches, look closely at academics (GPA and test status as classes progress), review video across platforms, and, most importantly, visit and evaluate in person to judge fit and character.
Interview with Boston College Head Coach Todd Interdonato - Ep. 163
Q: How do you identify players at BC?
We rely on multiple streams, vet recruits through video, social media, and recommendations, and look for mutual interest and fit rather than a single cookie-cutter method; local and regional relationships often anchor our early evaluations.
College Baseball Recruiting FAQ — Camps vs. Showcases, Academics, Metrics & Emailing Coaches - Ep. 162
Q: What do coaches value more, metrics or in-game performance?
Coaches emphasize in-game performance as the primary driver, with metrics serving as a prerequisite or entry point, but the true indicator of advancement is how a player performs when the lights are on.
Episode 157: Infield Play with Former MLB Player Kevin Smith
Q: Talk us through some of that pre-pitch routine and timing and why it matters.
Pre-pitch timing and staying on time with the ball improves reads, momentum, and the ability to make quick, accurate throws, which translates to better defense and more plays in games.
Episode 155: Interview with Monroe Community College Head Coach Dave Brust
Q: Why is Junior College a really good option for a lot of guys?
Junior college provides opportunities for personal growth and sufficient playing time without the pressure of four-year NCAA programs, allows players to develop their skills, and offers academic advantages that can lead to transfers to more prestigious institutions.
