  • The only problem…

…with this podcast is that I have to concede that it simply isn’t possible to go into the nerdy detail that I crave on a mere podcast. That said, I really enjoy the podcasts and learn something each time. The more I learn, the more I realise how little I know. Scio me nihil scire.

Jeremy Sturges – tea blending, seasonal variation and Gigondas
Q: Is there a particular technique for tasting your tea?
We always use the same white porcelain crockery and taste off a spoon to release the volatiles and aromas.
Jeremy Sturges – tea blending, seasonal variation and Gigondas
Q: What type of tea did you have with your breakfast this morning?
I had coffee, but I really like drinking teas that have brightness and briskness, which you would get from Kenya, strength from Assam, and maybe tea from Sri Lanka.
Robin Gill – Bees, natural wines and simple, seasonal dining
Q: So do you think you'll ever return to keeping bees?
No, I wouldn’t do it again without proper expertise and help.
Robin Gill – Bees, natural wines and simple, seasonal dining
Q: And did you have to get someone in to kind of manage the bees? Did you do all of that yourself?
At first, we didn't know what we were doing with the bees, but then Barbara helped us out after we got them.
Robin Gill – Bees, natural wines and simple, seasonal dining
Q: Are you noticing that? Or are you saying, actually, we're going to book that trend, we're going to be open long hours and as many days of the week as possible?
You used to have to go into the West End for a really good meal, now great restaurants have expanded to neighborhoods.
