  • Cold riding comment

I live way up north and I do three day eventing … I went to a HT a few years back in October… it was so cold They actually had to break the ice at the water jump and it was 30° and snowing, and we still went out! Crazy ! Luckily, I ride outside all the time because I do not have an indoor so my horse is used to it!

Preparing for Flying Changes Q&A
Q: If a horse is good at one of the flying change prep exercises, what information does that tell you?
It indicates balance is okay, but other areas like engagement need focus.
Five Training Pillars for Progress Q&A
Q: How much can you reasonably expect from the horse physically and mentally so that you don't overwhelm them?
Physical and mental tolerance varies by horse; young horses need to be developed gradually, similar to children in school, with attention spans increasing as they mature.
Five Training Pillars for Progress Q&A
Q: How long should I expect it to take to get my horse truly going well from behind?
It's tough to put a time on it, but generally, a year level of training is a good rule of thumb. Achieving true engagement takes continuous work and small wins along the way.
Contact & Connection Webinar.mp4
Q: How do you know if you have too much bend when riding?
Too much bend often results in a horse bending their neck but not their body, which affects control and steering.
Contact & Connection Webinar.mp4
Q: Can you tell us about your top tip for rider position for roundness?
Your seat is crucial; it must follow your horse's movement to help them lift and round their back effectively.
