  • Great podcast

This was the first trilogy book that I ever read, And still one of my favorite sets of fantasy novels. I’m glad that years later, I can re-live some of my favorite stories!

  • Great Surprise

I was just searching for a podcast where people talked about books that I’m not typically interested in (to help me fall asleep, if I’m being honest) and although I’ve never read a Dragonlance book I happened onto this podcast during my search and gave it a try. I say this as an avid listener to podcasts: this is one of the best I’ve ever come across. It’s one that I’ll listen to during my commute. Yes, that’s right: I’ll listen to it while I’m awake. If this keeps up, I might even crack ope... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#159- Stan!
Q: If the rumors of a Dragonlance live action project come to fruition, what location or scene would you like to see brought to life?
Many would like to see the death of Sturm at the High Claris Tower brought to life as it is a pivotal moment in Dragonlance history.
#159- Stan!
Q: What were your thoughts on the Fifth Age of Dragonlance compared to the War of the Lance?
Fifth Age was designed to be a narrative setting, allowing for more character freedom, while War of the Lance was more rigidly structured, making it harder to integrate players' storylines into the existing lore.
#144 – “Dragonlance: Autumn Twilight, the Nexus’s New Book!”
Q: How can DMs balance the flavor of Dragonlance while allowing for different character ancestries and subclasses?
Tim emphasized that the heritage of characters should not limit creativity, suggesting DMs should work with players to integrate their characters appropriately into the storyline.
#144 – “Dragonlance: Autumn Twilight, the Nexus’s New Book!”
Q: What are some pitfalls to avoid in converting older D&D editions to 5E?
Tim advised that 1E is much more forgiving balance-wise than 5E, and mentioned that one-to-one monster encounters need careful adjustments to maintain balance.
#144 – “Dragonlance: Autumn Twilight, the Nexus’s New Book!”
Q: What was the genesis behind this project?
Tim shared he had been running the campaign in fifth edition and had already converted sections based on his own notes; he was motivated to publish it for the Nexus.
