This is my fav music podcast right now. The questions are so thoughtful and outside of the “ how long have you been playing and who were your influences as a kid” box it’s super refreshing. Fantastic job.

  • 100 Episodes and Still Going Strong!

Paul does a great job interviewing a wide-range of people involed in music, while asking questions and keeping up interesting conversations that don't stick to typical "interview" content. His unique questions and encouragement of storytelling keep episodes interesting, even if you aren't familiar with the featured guest.

The episode lengths are also a plus, as they typically clock in somewhere around 30-40 minutes. Not too long, not too short, and they always leave you wanting to hear more.

Q: What did you learn from the UK reception and from touring there compared to the US?

Q: What was the scene like in LA during Paisley Underground, and how did Rain Parade fit in?

Q: How did Rain Parade end up on Enigma Records, and what was the early relationship like with the label?
The band connected with Bill Hine, who shared a passion for diverse music; Enigma released their material after meeting him, and the relationship grew out of mutual interest rather than a grand, immediate financial plan.
Episode 251 with Mark Tremalgia (Little Caesar): The 80’s Did a Lot of Bad Things but the Drums Are Terrible
Q: What's your take on the role of peer relationships versus hero worship when collaborating with legendary players like Steve Vai?
They acknowledge that while Steve Vai is a peer in terms of musical level, he remains a towering figure; for Mark, working with such virtuosos becomes a mutual exchange rather than a simple student-mentor dynamic, highlighting evolution in personal networks across generations.
Episode 251 with Mark Tremalgia (Little Caesar): The 80’s Did a Lot of Bad Things but the Drums Are Terrible
Q: How do you view the balance between credit and money in a musician's career?
