We finished the first book this week, and my oh my are there feelings about this one. After we work through all the trauma there, we've also got a couple of achievements to hand out and a little talk about the future of the show. So stay tuned throug... more
Mike had to miss this one, but he sent in some thoughts that I added in at the beginning of the episode. Beyond that, this penultimate delve into the dungeon is an interesting one. We meet The Maestro and go on Death Watch Extreme Dungeon Mayhem. Wit... more
The rage elemental arrives, and the rage elemental is no more. Carl exploits a bug (or feature?) in the game to take down a high-level monstrosity, and our podcast crew is here for it (well, mostly). We're in the home stretch now, just a couple more ... more
Despite the entire podcast crew being sure it is certain to happen any moment, the Meadowlark party of old folks is still alive and kicking ... well, alive anyway. But the way these chapters end seems likely to be the moment that everything changes. ... more

I had planned on reading the DCC books for a while and seeing that this podcast existed finally made me do it. I went through the books in a couple of weeks but still wait eagerly for each new episode as their reactions and theories make a good book even better.
I have tried to listen to some other DCC podcasts while waiting for the fortnightly updates from DGMJ, but none of the others can match the level of polish and pure fun that this have. 5/5 stars.
To be serious a fantastic podcast that natches the tone of the book perfectly, i follow both this podcast and the other one from this network. Both are fantastic. You can tell all of the hosts are enjoying themselves so much. So if you want to use a podcast to follow through the dungeon for the first time like me you could do a lot worse then this one.
I have listened to two other DCC podcasts. Considering these are all read along formats the content is similar. However.. The chemistry of these participants is wild. While there may be the occasional inside joke, as a listener you do not feel left out. Our host does an AMAZING job allowing the new readers to come to their own conclusions. The predictions are my favorite part of each episode! New to podcasts, or just new to Dungeon Crawler Carl, give DGMJ a shot!
One of the hosts has less than ideal mic quality, but the hosts overall have funny chemistry and as someone who has read the whole series up to this point, some of the things they say made me shake my head at how comically wrong they are.
Happy to hear Data leading more newbies through another of my favorite series!
