  • Fantastic podcast

I love this podcast, I’ve been listening for about a year and I always make sure to check out new episodes. I recently started a new job where I can listen while I work and the only downside is I’m going to run out of episodes soon. 👍👍

  • Well produced and fun podcast!

Anthony has a clear passion for Superman and his world and covers everything Superman related in great detail! His chemistry with every guest is readily apparent and leads to an informative but still relaxed enough feel that’ll have you feeling like you’re hanging out with friends as they chat Superman! Was fortunate enough to have him on my show and he’s just as fun to talk to in person as he is to listen to!

  • continuity nerd?

I’m glad someone loves Superman lore as much as Anthony. He made me laugh in a recent episode. He said he didn’t want to be a “continuity nerd.” Yet in the entire episode, he complained about changes John Byrne made to Superman continuity in 1986, nearly 40 years ago. And in the same breath, he talked nostalgically about “the triangle era,” which started in the late 1990s and ended in 2001 (24 years ago). Someone needs to warn Anthony before the next time he looks in a mirror because when he do... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

SUPERMAN/BATMAN: SUPERGIRL by Jeph Loeb & Michael Turner
Q: Do you think the animated movie improves on the comic in meaningful ways?
Yes, the consensus is that the movie tightens the action and gives Kara a decisive climax, while also streamlining some of the book's slower beats and preserving Turner's visual style.
SUPERMAN/BATMAN: SUPERGIRL by Jeph Loeb & Michael Turner
Q: What was your initial reaction when this arc was announced, and how has rereading it changed that view?
The hosts reflect on their initial excitement about Kara's reintroduction and how rereading revealed shifts in character emphasis, especially in how the story balances the Trinity and Kara's own agency.
ABSOLUTE SUPERMAN by Jason Aaron & Rafa Sandoval
Q: What makes Absolute Superman distinct from the mainline Superman, and how does the environment shape Kal-El's choices?
The hosts discuss how removing traditional anchors like the fortress and family forces Kal to confront core intrinsic traits—resilience, empathy, and a reluctance to succumb to rage—while navigating a world that mirrors real-world oppression and corporate manipulation. This setup foregrounds Kal as a morally complex protagonist whose environment reframes, but does not erase, essential Superman traits.
Superman: The KRYPTONITE SPECTRUM — All-Star Superman Vibes*
Q: Did you find Kryptonite Spectrum a worthy companion to All-Star Superman?
They felt it was good and well-made, with strong art and a clear, proactive storyline, though the Lex portrayal and some thematic threads didn't land as fully as All-Star for them.
Supergirl by SOPHIE CAMPBELL (Free Comic Book Day BONUS!)
Q: What has your experience been with the series since it launched in 2025?
Josh shares that starting from the beginning has been enjoyable, with the series offering a balanced, non-tragic tone that still delves into meaningful, sometimes darker themes, and that the continuity approach enriches the reading experience rather than complicating it for newcomers.
