  • Fantastic podcast

I love this podcast, I’ve been listening for about a year and I always make sure to check out new episodes. I recently started a new job where I can listen while I work and the only downside is I’m going to run out of episodes soon. 👍👍

  • Well produced and fun podcast!

Anthony has a clear passion for Superman and his world and covers everything Superman related in great detail! His chemistry with every guest is readily apparent and leads to an informative but still relaxed enough feel that’ll have you feeling like you’re hanging out with friends as they chat Superman! Was fortunate enough to have him on my show and he’s just as fun to talk to in person as he is to listen to!

  • continuity nerd?

I’m glad someone loves Superman lore as much as Anthony. He made me laugh in a recent episode. He said he didn’t want to be a “continuity nerd.” Yet in the entire episode, he complained about changes John Byrne made to Superman continuity in 1986, nearly 40 years ago. And in the same breath, he talked nostalgically about “the triangle era,” which started in the late 1990s and ended in 2001 (24 years ago). Someone needs to warn Anthony before the next time he looks in a mirror because when he do... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

SUPERGIRL '26 Opening Weekend AUDIENCE REACTIONS!
Q: Would you consider this a worthwhile second film for the DCU or would you have preferred something else?
The guest felt the film works as a continuation of the DCU's expansion and that it makes sense as a middle entry, especially as it explores Kara's world and sets up potential future conflicts, even if some budgetary and reception concerns exist.
JEPH LOEB Talks SUPERMAN Run, FOR ALL SEASONS, & SMALLVILLE!
Q: Ignition, introduced during Emperor Joker, had a longer-term plan or origin?
Loeb explains Ignition was meant as a strong, standalone addition to expand the universe and was not retained as a long-term recurring element after its initial run.
The Complete Superman Works of CHUCK AUSTEN (Yes, THAT Chuck Austen)
Q: What attracted Austen to the Superman comics initially, and how did that shape his approach?
Austen said he initially found the older Siegel and Shuster material most compelling, which led him to draw on Golden Age tones and to experiment with a more aggressive, action-forward Superman voice rather than the then-current Earth-2 or post-crisis iterations.
Byrne's WORLD OF Krypton, Smallville, & Metropolis (PLUS! Superman #1)
Q: What stood out to you about the World Of Smallville issues?
The emphasis on character backstories for Martha, Jonathan, Lana, and Perry and how the Millennium crossover ties Lana's arc to the broader Manhunters plot, though some readers feel Lana's treatment is problematic.
Byrne's WORLD OF Krypton, Smallville, & Metropolis (PLUS! Superman #1)
Q: Where do you want to start with the World Of Krypton trilogy?
We plan to start with World Of Krypton to explore Van-El and the clone wars, then move through Smallville and Metropolis, continuing to discuss how Byrne's prequel material informs the later Byrne run.
