Not sure why so many people are leaving negative reviews! If you prefer a similar pod, listen to that instead? I personally love how each ep focuses on one birth story (with a monumental part generally that shapes the episode) in a short but concise format. I think the host allows them to share their stories and holds space for them and does a great job. Please never stop making these! I love listening to different experiences to prep me for my own one day.
I love this podcast! All of the episodes are wonderful, but I have to say: as a twin-mama, listening to Dr. Golly's empathetic discussion of what it feels like having multiples had me tearing up
The advertisement for this show that I heard on another mamamia podcast advertised this podcast as a good listen for expectant mothers who might be on their own journey. Every story I’ve listened to sounds traumatic and casts seeds of doubt in my mind. I think the advertising needs to not make it sound like an ‘amazing journey of birth’ and more closely aligned with the message of astonishing, and rare stories of birth There should be a caveat or trigger warning for expectant mothers to be !
It appears to me that they tried to copy Australian Birth Story which is a great podcast and they even collaborated with that host prior to creating this one. I think the format of this one takes away from the story as the host is always jumping in with her own stories and thoughts which kinda ruins it.
