  • Favors others platforms

Apple podcast platform is often neglected. Was a premium supporter but Spotify gets episodes first and what appears on this platform is the free version of episodes even if you paid for premium.

Very disappointing and will be the last time I pay for a membership.

  • DHH? Gross.

Pretty bummed y’all had DHH on the show. Dude has done so much harm through racist policies at Basecamp and a general sneering attitude to anybody who doesn’t look/act like a white dude. Pass.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sam Goodwin - Alchemy
Q: What is the role of Distilled in the Alchemy stack, and how does AI-generated SDKs impact cloud provider integration?
Distilled AI generates effect-native SDKs for cloud providers, patches errors, and enables AI to handle retries and other edge cases. This makes it feasible to generate and maintain SDKs for multiple providers automatically, accelerating breadth of coverage and reliability across AWS, GCP, Azure, and more.
Sam Goodwin - Alchemy
Q: How does Alchemy V2 change the way we think about planning and concurrency in infrastructure as code?
V2 removes traditional planning by leveraging effects, which are pure and type-checked, allowing dependencies to be declared upfront and then generated and wired automatically. This enables parallelism where safe, reduces the risk of destructive deployments, and makes the entire infrastructure lifecycle more predictable through the type system.
Alem Tuzlak - Tanstack Dev Tools and Tanstack AI
Q: What exactly is Tanstack AI, and how does it fit with other tooling like adapters and providers?
Tanstack AI is a middleware-like layer that sits between your AI providers and your application, enabling you to build agent-like experiences with provider adapters for chat, image, video, transcription, and more. It emphasizes type safety, has multiple adapters per function, and uses a modular architecture to avoid vendor lock-in while allowing easy experimentation with providers like OpenAI, Entropic, Grok, and OpenRouter.
Alem Tuzlak - Tanstack Dev Tools and Tanstack AI
Q: So, you are the creator of the Tanstack DevTools? Is that what you're working on? And working on Tanstack AI, we're really excited to chat about that.
Yes, I'm Alem Tuzlak, the creator of Tanstack DevTools and co-creator of Tanstack AI. I've been involved in building devtools and open-source tooling, and I joined Tanstack as a maintainer recently to help push both the DevTools and AI efforts forward, including integrating devtools with Remix and React Router DevTools.
Paolo Ricciuti - Svelte, TMCP
Q: What makes TMCP a good alternative to the official MCP SDK, and how does it balance simplicity and capability?
TMCP aims to be lighter and more predictable, offering a consistent API shape across server and resource constructs, while keeping transport modular so you don't incur unnecessary dependencies; it's designed to be practical and extensible for real-world MCP server needs.
