In the season one finale, Sol introduces Conor to Robert Zemeckis' aborted Yellow Submarine remake - truly a film that no one asked for.
Conor teaches Sol about Stanley Kubrick's failed attempt to create what he claims would have been "the greatest film ever made": a Napoleon biopic starring Jack Nicholson.
Sol and Conor are taking on Never of the Dead - that is, attempts to create sequels to films from George A. Romero's seminal zombie franchise (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead), that never came to fruition.
Conor tells Sol about Kaleidoscope, which is, despite never getting made, arguably Alfred Hitchcock's most infamous film.

Conor and Sol explore Rendezvous with Rama, the long-gestating Arthur C. Clarke adaptation that was, at one point, set to star Morgan Freeman and be directed by David Fincher.
Not a change in quality though.
