Each David Bowie album is unique. Some are universally lionised, some regarded as merely legendary, some, pretentious codswallop. But we all have our favourites. In this series of podcasts, I meet up with writers, musicians, critics and assorted woodland folk, to explore their choice of album in rambling roundelays of free-form facting, anorak-grade geekery, pompous pontification, impassioned argu... more

Part Two of my conversation with Tin Machine co-producer and amanuensis Tim Palmer takes in the aftermath of the 1989 debut LP and the fractured coming together of elements to make up the arguably stronger second album - a smorgasbord of some classic... more

But after that, it’s just the music and the concepts he left that we have. Do we need more shows, fewer and fewer of those artists collaborating on versions of Bowie’s songs? I can appreciate the musicians he worked with want to pay tribute, but isn’t that enough o... more
Really enjoy these with their forensic detail. I actually prefer the ones about albums I like less. For example, the four part walk through the eighties was such a treasure. Can’t agree with the high ratings for some shocking tracks, but provoked me to relisten to Labyrinth!
Great series with fantastic guest commentary often spoiled by poor, weak audio requiring some form of "sound treatment".
Your shows about the album Lodger are really good, you guys obviously know your music and give good background on it, and I was very pleased to hear someone else observe that fantastic voyage and boys keep swinging are the same song, at least the same backing track, but to say that the song fashion from scary monsters fits in on the album Lodger? Each to their own, as they say, but I can’t hear it. Fashion has a big fat sound, all of Lodger is very lean sounding, no reverb, it was still the time... more
