  • Disappointing

I had high hopes but these were quickly dashed by the irresponsible way the Karen read trial was presented and commented on. I was completely impartial and watched the trial with an open mind. It’s a shame this guy didn’t do the same. No place in journalism for people that cannot be impartial and follow the evidence.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Lindsay Clancy Case: Defense Exposes Gaps in Psychiatrist's Postpartum Track Record
Q: How many patients had you treated for postpartum conditions before Lindsay Clancy in August 2022?
The physician testified that in the early August period he had not treated postpartum psychosis in that month, noting that it is very rare, though he had broader postpartum experience during residency.
Could Keffe D's 2008 Interview Set Him Free?
Q: What is a proffer, and why is it relevant to Davis's case?
A proffer is an offer to share information with investigators in exchange for some form of protection from prosecution; its specifics can determine whether statements are admissible or deemed coercive, affecting how the jury views Davis's statements across multiple media.
Alex Murdaugh's Key Evidence Can Never Be Tested Again
Q: Why is the shirt with the blood spatter significant, and how does the testing ambiguity affect the case?
The shirt is a potential linchpin linking the defendant to the crime; conflicting test results and the fact that further testing may be impossible due to prior treatment introduce uncertainty that could sway jurors either toward or away from culpability depending on how the issues are presented.
Alex Murdaugh's Key Evidence Can Never Be Tested Again
Q: What impact could the Brady/Giglio discovery motion have on Alec Murdaugh's defense?
It could force prosecutors to disclose previously undisclosed materials and witness histories, potentially revealing exculpatory information or undermining earlier assumptions, which the defense could leverage to bolster reasonable doubt or challenge the prosecution's narrative.
Why Lindsay Clancy's Own Witness Undercut The State's Case
Q: How does the journal evidence influence the jury's perception of sanity and mental health?
The entries are used to illustrate an ongoing, real-time struggle with mental illness, suggesting a chronic condition rather than a premeditated plan, which could lower the likelihood of a guilty verdict on the sanity question.
