  • Disappointing

I had high hopes but these were quickly dashed by the irresponsible way the Karen read trial was presented and commented on. I was completely impartial and watched the trial with an open mind. It’s a shame this guy didn’t do the same. No place in journalism for people that cannot be impartial and follow the evidence.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Amy Duggar King Describes Family's Alleged Suppression System
Q: Do you think the leadership's approach to accountability contributed to the harm, and how might that change?
There's a sense that rigid rules and a focus on image can prevent genuine accountability, and there's emphasis on the need for transparency and systemic reform.
Amy Duggar King Describes Family's Alleged Suppression System
Q: With the scope you've learned about, do you think this goes much further within the IBLP and the family than what's publicly known?
The guests suggest there's likely more beneath the surface, pointing to a broader system and culture that could support abusive dynamics beyond what's publicly visible.
Anna Kepner Cruise Ship Murder: A Trial Attorney Reads the Defense Signals
Q: What kind of mental health defense might the defense be preparing?
The defense appears to be considering a mental-health or pharmacological defense strategy, possibly restricting access to the defendant to mold the narrative around this defense.
Anna Kepner Cruise Ship Murder: Federal Charges Expose Key Evidence
Q: Why would a defense attorney let a 16-year-old volunteer for being tried as an adult?
The guests suggest it could be a strategic decision to access different legal resources, potentially stronger homicide defense expertise, or to manage sentencing exposure by presenting a narrative in the adult system, though the move is controversial and could backfire if a jury views it unfavorably.
Gilgo Beach: Asa Ellerup Lawsuit Faces Legal Hurdles
Q: How does the discovery rule influence the statute of limitations in this case?
The guests explain that because the plaintiff was a small child at the time of the events and the identity of the tortfeasor was unclear for many years, the discovery rule can toll the statute of limitations, potentially allowing the suit to proceed.
