This “panel” is very biased for the defense. They refer to the defense attorney as, “Kevin” and the prosecutor as the, “prosecution.” They described the defense attorney as “taking care of” Patrick Clancy as a witness, while the other side, “didn’t.” I mean I guess the fact that they don’t even have a prosecutor on the panel is pretty telling. Let’s hope NBC10 has a show dedicated to Latarsha Sanders’ defense when her case is re-tried.
What in the hell is with the lady coughing loudly and often on Dec 4th?? Couldn’t she mute herself?! I can’t believe they left that in there. So unprofessional and weird.
I found some good aspects to this show, but I also was frustrated by some flaws I perceived in the legal analysis. I am writing this review after hearing one of the panel say that “you can’t have circumstantial evidence for a first or second degree murder charge.” That’s just an incorrect statement of the law. Intent in murder cases is often adduced through circumstantial evidence. Another frustration I had with the legal analysis is what I perceived as shifting the burden to the defense.
My husband and I have watched Canton Confidential every day for the second trial. The hosts JC and Glenn ask great questions of the guests, and overall do a fantastic job of navigating this complex and crazy case. It is obvious they try to be as neutral as possible. I also love viewer questions. Sue is the BEST courtroom insider and general awesome human being. I also find Morjieta Derisier and Michael Coyne to be really insightful and helpful in their commentary. Margaret McLean is newer to the... more
I LOVE SUE - she gets 5 stars <3, however that retired judge is wild - I’m so glad he is retired and no one ever has to go before him in a courtroom ever again. He is SO biased it’s insane. Is he watching the same case we are????? His comments about the judge, prosecution, and defense are so offensive and biased. I’ve stopped watching your show because of him. I hope you find a better “expert court witness” if you ever do another series like this. His clear bias, on a National News network is gr... more

This show provides nightly legal and trial coverage with a panel consisting of local reporters, legal analysts, and occasional guest commentators. Episodes typically dissect high-profile criminal cases in real time, weighing witness credibility, evidentiary issues, and courtroom strategy, while also exploring broader implications for careers, institutions, and public perception. A notable strength is the mix of on-the-ground reporting from NBC affiliates with accessible legal analysis, which helps translate complex courtroom developments for a broad audience. Some listeners may perceive biases depending on guest choices, but the format remains anchored in rapid verdict-focused recaps and post-verdict interpretation, making it particularly a... more
