Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

30 Jul 26 02:53 UTC; Baal HaSulam. Study of the Ten Sefirot. Vol. 1. Part 1. Chapter 1
Q: Why is phase 1 known as the right and phase 2 called the left, and how do these phases relate to Abba and Ima?
Phase 1 corresponds to the right due to the light of Chokhmah (Abba) and its role in reception, while phase 2 corresponds to the left because it involves the next stage of the vessel (Ima, the light of Bina) and the beginning of bestowal. The four phases of direct light describe how the vessel transitions from pure reception to the emergence of intention to bestow, with the middle line forming as these two directions unite.
13 Jul 26 10:27 UTC; Rabash. What Does It Mean that the Creator Favors Someone, in the Work?. 33 (1991)
Q: What is the Chuvah and what is the difference between it and repentance?
Chuvah is framed as the process of returning to a state of unity and correcting the malchut through collective striving and the support of the group, whereas repentance is described as the transformation of the vessels (the Hei returning to the Vav) within the context of spiritual work and the Kingdome of Heaven.
24 Jul 26 10:33 UTC; The Structure of the Upper Spiritual Worlds
Q: Why do we always draw that the light spreads to the end? Why do we never draw the sow in Absag, even though the light extends to the Sof of the Porzuf?
First of all, we do draw the Sof. In Rav's sketch there is a Rosh, Toch, down to the Tabur, and there is the Sof. The calculation concerns how much can be received; the Sof contains the khoshech, the power not to receive, illustrating the limit at the end of the Parzuf.
14 Jul 26 02:52 UTC; Baal HaSulam. Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah (31.05.2001)
Q: What is the relation between the shattering and the creation of the worlds Bria, Yetzirah, and Asiya?
The shattering creates the broken vessels that later give birth to Bria, Yetzirah, and Asiya once they are corrected; the process explains how the vessels descend below the parsa and then are raised through ascents to become the worlds.
14 Jul 26 02:52 UTC; Baal HaSulam. Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah (31.05.2001)
Q: Are there two systems of Abiyah, and if so, where are they located?
Yes, there are discussions distinguishing two systems of Abiyah, with one set described as above the table and another below, clarifying how these systems relate to the worlds and their correction.
