  • Approachable and informative

I love how Spirit Outspoken delivers meaningful content in such an approachable way. I appreciate the information coming in bite size segments and that it always is accompanied by something extra, i.e. a meditation or worksheet. For someone who is not very woo-woo, this is a great way to dive into spirituality.

Reframing Hell & The Cross w/ Jonathan Henderson
Q: Is the thought that hell is a mental condition or a mental state on earth when you choose to turn your back on the loving presence of God?
Yes, no one has ever experienced hell as described in scripture except for Christ on the cross, but we have snippets of it in our lives when we reject God's presence.
Reframing Hell & The Cross w/ Jonathan Henderson
Q: Can you share some of the things that you stumbled upon that you just were like, man, this just isn't clicking for me?
Henderson talks about how testing Adam and Eve felt arbitrary and unnecessary, realizing that it was about trust and transparency rather than a test. He also struggled with the concept of the cross being a necessity for God's forgiveness.
Decolonizing the Church: The Justice of Jesus w/ Joash Thomas
Q: Why do we view faith and justice as so separate here, where other parts of the world really seem to get this a little bit more than we do?
Joash posits that this comes from empire-shaped dynamics that distort Christianity, separating spiritual and social responsibilities to justify injustice.
Decolonizing the Church: The Justice of Jesus w/ Joash Thomas
Q: Can you just give us a brief overview of who you are, what your history is, and how you got into this line of work specifically?
Joash Thomas discusses his upbringing in a long line of Indian Christians who practiced for 2000 years and emphasizes the importance of understanding justice within Christianity, contrasting it with Western interpretations.
Ayurvedic Wisdom for Spring w/ Andrea Claassen
Q: How can we incorporate Ayurveda as we move into spring?
Start your day with breath work, practice tongue scraping, and incorporate movement to release stagnant energy.
