I read Pat’s second book about why Christians should reject Trump and as a lifelong Lutheran and unapologetic liberal voter as well, Pat’s words resonated with my complete incredulity that people who claim Christ as their Savior could also champion a man and movement so antithetical to who God showed itself to be in the Biblical stories of Jesus’ life on Earth.
Next I found Pat’s podcast, and I have so enjoyed listening to Pat and his guests talk about our current political and cultural “rea... more
It’s my favorite podcast and I listen to many! I just wish all the old episodes were available.
I appreciate your thoughtfulness and devotion to connecting God’s Word to current events. I have felt a bit homeless over the past 5 years, as someone who loves Jesus but does not align with the perspectives of so many in the US who claim Christian faith. Also, born in MN but raised in Europe. Appreciate the MN here.
My faith has been extremely damaged by right wing political evangelicals and their so called “Christian”followers. It helps to know there are evangelicals like Pat that actually follow Christ and his teachings and recognize Trump is destroying our country!

The show centers on faith, culture, and contemporary politics through a Christian lens, often critiquing MAGA-era rhetoric while exploring Christian nationalism, religious leadership, and accountability in public life. Episodes frequently feature conversations with guests who bring firsthand experience in evangelical circles, prophetic movements, and political critique, alongside monologues that dissect policy and leadership through pastoral ethics. It's notable for its willingness to challenge prominent evangelical figures and movements, use humor and personal narrative to unpack complex issues, and invite critical perspectives from former insiders.
