  • Wisdom and Humility in Action

I read Pat’s second book about why Christians should reject Trump and as a lifelong Lutheran and unapologetic liberal voter as well, Pat’s words resonated with my complete incredulity that people who claim Christ as their Savior could also champion a man and movement so antithetical to who God showed itself to be in the Biblical stories of Jesus’ life on Earth.

Next I found Pat’s podcast, and I have so enjoyed listening to Pat and his guests talk about our current political and cultural “rea... more

  • Thank you!

I appreciate your thoughtfulness and devotion to connecting God’s Word to current events. I have felt a bit homeless over the past 5 years, as someone who loves Jesus but does not align with the perspectives of so many in the US who claim Christian faith. Also, born in MN but raised in Europe. Appreciate the MN here.

  • Thanks for speaking out!

My faith has been extremely damaged by right wing political evangelicals and their so called “Christian”followers. It helps to know there are evangelicals like Pat that actually follow Christ and his teachings and recognize Trump is destroying our country!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

A Warning about Christian Zionism and its MAGA-Aligned Peddlers (with Tihomir Kukolja)
Q: What are the dangers of weaponized eschatology in American evangelical circles?
The danger lies in turning faith into a political tool that justifies violence, mobilizes support for aggressive policies, and blinds followers to the real human cost—especially for Palestinian Christians and civilians—while claiming divine mandate.
A Warning about Christian Zionism and its MAGA-Aligned Peddlers (with Tihomir Kukolja)
Q: What is Zionism, and how does Christian Zionism differ from it?
Zionism is framed as a nationalist movement for a homeland for Jewish people; Christian Zionism uses prophetic interpretation to support political aims, often tying support for Israel to end-times narratives and urging political action that mirrors their theology.
CFP LIVE, Episode 33: The Death of Lindsey Graham and Conspiracies around Mitch McConnell
Q: What are your initial reactions to the deaths of Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell in the context of current politics?
The hosts express anger and disappointment toward Graham and McConnell for enabling Trump and perpetuating harmful policies, while also noting the complexity of public reactions and the need to discuss the dead with honesty and restraint.
Real History with Pat & Ken, Episode 1: MAGA's Dangerous End-Times Politics, When the Rapture Becomes a Weapon! (featuring Dr. Matthew Taylor)
Q: What changed to make this idea so popular?
Dr. Matthew Taylor discusses historical shifts in dispensational theology, its rise in the 19th century, and how cultural and political contexts helped embed the idea in modern evangelicalism.
Real History with Pat & Ken, Episode 1: MAGA's Dangerous End-Times Politics, When the Rapture Becomes a Weapon! (featuring Dr. Matthew Taylor)
Q: Right, is the rapture in the Bible?
The hosts suggest that the rapture is not explicitly described in the Bible as popularly imagined, and that the belief has developed over time rather than being a uniform early church teaching.
