I was so happy to see this pop up in my cast feed, since it had been a while I almost removed the show from my list.
The Jones bros and Mark are incredibly entertaining and remind me of talking movies and music with my siblings and bandmates over the years.
Welcome back in 2025, and thanks for the hard work and energy you put in to offer your unique brand of critique on the movies our generation grew up on!
I don’t think anyone took a breath for the fifty minutes I listened. Just talk over each other at full volume the entire time.
Wish it was a weekly show. These guys are great
Love listening to you guys and love the pod!
Keep up the good stuff!
Fun podcast with relatively short episodes on cult classics, mostly from the 1990s. The show doesn’t go into depth with 3-4 hour episodes like some shows, which I like. As a child of the 1990s, I enjoy getting refreshers on films of the past that I may not have seen for years without the scene-by-scene dissection that some other podcasts do.
Jordan, Mark, and Cameron are the best! They have a great rapport! This podcast is so much fun! Listen!
Love listening to you guys and love the pod! Keep up the good stuff!
My favorite movie podcast.
I mirror what another reviewer said. These guys have some chemistry but they don’t love the material enough. Listening to “That Thing You Do” you see how much they really don’t know about the movie itself. They are too focused on all the hidden information. You can look up how to pronounce someone’s name and show a little respect.
Unbearable and cringey. 2 stars for effort.
I think the guys are enjoyable enough, but when you’re delving into really popular subjects, you need to know at least the basics and not just “wing it”. Real fans of the movies are FANS. It’s not just some movie. I’ve listened to a half dozen of their podcasts and it seems to be the same each time.
The Dazed and Confused episode is a good example. The character is Kevin Pickford. Not Pickman. Not Randy.
Same thing when they’re talking about characters. “Ummm . . . the red-headed football gu... more
Found this show while doing research for a podcast episode and now I’m subscribed.
Listened to the John Wick 2 show. Excellent content! Will be listening to more! All the best from TOO MANY CAPTAINS!!!
I wanted to like this podcast, but I just can’t. I don’t know if there are just too many hosts, but there are definitely issues. My main concern is that they talk over each other constantly. No one listens to each other; they are literally just waiting for their turn to talk. Very little engagement with each other’s ideas. Someone will start to say something interesting and instead of building upon it (or even letting them finish their thought), another host will jump in with something of their ... more
Cult Classics is a class act. Rarely do you come across such a well-balanced, informative and entertaining podcast. These guys know their stuff and relate well to each other. If you’ve seen one of the cult-classic movies they discuss you’ll have a smile on your face as you relive the movie you watched back in the day. Lots of trivia, history, cinegraphic back story and a brilliant format they string together each week. Jordan, Cameron and Mark each from Chicago know so much about movie lore and ... more
