#189: Maurice Louca
Q: So I understand one of the origins of this material is a solo set that you developed first in 2019. Take me back, what did the process of originally writing this material look like?
Maurice describes being invited to create a solo set for a festival, which led him to develop a new solo program with tunes he had written using his microtonal guitar.
#186: Lucia H Chung (en creux, Falling Cat Problem)
Q: So how do you define important? And then what leads you to pick these two records?
I think I can still feel the impact of these records on me, like, as a listener. Like, I find them exciting in a way that feels distinct from how some other records are just like, yeah, this is awesome.
#186: Lucia H Chung (en creux, Falling Cat Problem)
Q: What is it about that whole area of things, like the aesthetic of noise music that you think holds fascination for you?
It just is very different from my style and then I do learn how to, I mean, it's not the same for everyone, but I learn how to do live from doing live.
#186: Lucia H Chung (en creux, Falling Cat Problem)
Q: So how much do you think that is just like an internal sense of just embracing that stuff can happen and stuff can change?
I think it's probably mostly internally because I do have a very similar setup for in the past two years.
