I live in Maine, and these 2 sound familiar! Like 2 elderly ladies at the next table at dunkin donuts gossiping about whatever. Sadly, those people annoy me. Terrible accent, voices and interaction. It becomes grating. Oh... And kind of ongoing anger for decades old investigator bias they attribute to misogyny. And... Clearly biased in presenting their evidence.
I really like this show -I'm a fan of Maureen's books, and so when I found the podcast I got excited. The stories (especially the hometown Maine ones) are well covered, and always recognize those involved have a perspective and that might color the case in ways that are unfair to the victim or families. I really enjoy this show.
I am a former Mainer living in Maryland and a true crime fan so I have found a perfect match. I find the podcasts very interesting and love the unpretentiousness of the Milliken sisters. My kids will only let me listen to this show in the car because they think it is funny. “Their sarcasm and profanity sound just like how Mommy talks” (I agree).
