You can tell she really has grown in her profession in the years she’s had her podcast. More to the point and she speaks more confidently.
Sometimes I’m trying to hear a story and then it spins off to the point I’m not sure if I’m listening to the same thing or it moved onto another irrelevant topic. Another thing is how much the exact same introduction is repeated all through the episode. I keep thinking I restarted the episode. As a MA resident, I love that this podcast is centered around New England. It’s evident that Kylie cares about these cases as she’s always so well prepared and her research is very thorough.
I enjoy most of the stories told, but find there is a lot of fluff in each episode. The excessive flowery language building up the story can be frustrating and doesn’t add to the story for me personally. Also the volume on this show is always off for me and I have to turn it way up to hear the host but then other parts are loud in that case - I think this is a production issue.
I love hearing the victims’ families voices in true crime podcasts. However, I feel like it’s awkward and forced here. Either go full investigative journalist or don’t interview at all and stick to narrator telling the story, which I also enjoy.
