Sigh… the episode on methanol in Laos was… so out of touch and racist… the need for the host to classify herself as a possible victim of issues in Laos just because she was a tourist there was a bit of a choice… but then to add salt to the wound to just pile on a list of issues with the area… ie… the lines and unexploded bombs seemed like a typical first world tourist response by the very country that left them there to begin with. Every episode begins with a disclaimer that the point of this podcast is to inform and not determine guilt. That is only true when the people charged of the crimes are not police officers, conservative politicians or religious figures, then they are definitely guilty before any trail. The host then drops her mask of impartiality, and injects her opinions and makes snide remarks. That is the worst kind of bias, the kind that treats you like a fool and hopes you won’t notice.
