Magpie definitely gives proper attention to the context of what the episode is about. Might be too much for some; but nothing happens in a vacuum so it’s great to see how the topic fits in with the greater goings on.
The pod is way better than this review.
Delivers as promised, cool.peooke who did cool stuff; BUT Margaret does not shy away from people who did cool stuff but are also problematic, and she generally calls it out explicitly which I respect. Note that you will probably not like this show if you don't lean pretty hard left. But maybe you should listen anyway?

Margaret is my new celebrity crush and this might just be the most useful and accessible history x theory x organizing podcast in the whole wide world. Or not. Either way, this is the best thing since sliced bread. Oh and her ad intros have me laughing every time.
Radical history told in an accessible and entertaining way through an anarchist lens. Well-researched deep dives. This show is an incredible resource. I’ve listened to every episode and there’s not a bad one in the bunch.
My only gripe is that sometimes they reference seemingly nonexistent “show notes.” It would be amazing if the sources were listed for each episode.
