Unlike what Aaron says a few seconds in, it wasn't two episodes in one month, was it? Well, like Jay says right after that, we decided to space these out since we have no set schedule anymore. So here it is! Jay's birthday episode! Not a Bond, but fe... more
The Three Musketeers of Mediocrity have returned, and we are live (not really) and in person (yes really, thanks to the baffling generous support of our Patreon listeners). Joined by special guest Amanda Factor (better known as "Jay's girlfriend who'... more
Happy 2025 everybody! Last year ground to an ignominious end here in comPOSERS territory. A failed attempt at recording an episode about the Jim Carrey Grinch movie robbed us of our holiday spirit, and scheduling conflicts didn't allow for another ki... more

I’ve never left a bad review for a podcast but I was so excited to listen to this podcast because I love discussing film scores but I’ve listened to a few episodes and all they do is complain. I got thirty minutes into the Thor Ragnarok episode and had to shut it off cause I just couldn’t take it anymore. All they did was bash on the movie and wouldn’t even hear the guy out who was trying to explain it. I was half way through the episode and the podcast about movie score had yet to even bring up... more
I just think that if you guys are going to do an ‘analysis’ that includes the music of The Shining, you could at least take sometime to do some basic research. You can even do it in Wikipedia, I mean for the level of care you took, Wikipedia will do just fine. You guys said that besides Penderecki, the rest of the music was by some ‘Italian’ guy. György Ligeti is one of the most important Hungarian composers of the 20th century. If that’s the level of research you did, no wonder you have no more... more
A "drinking podcast discussing movie scores" - this beauty is hosted by three of the most nauseatingly nice white dudes and looks at the scores of the big screen. One can't speak, one can't be serious about anything and then there's Alex. They can be overly critical for three nerds in a basement and hiding from their spouses (now in insolation starring at a screen) but they're HUGELY entertaining, funny, and very engaging. It's like being from a small town and going home for the Thanksgiving and... more
Listening to this podcast has greatly increased my knowledge of film scores and film composers, almost as much as it has increased my (arguably unfair) prejudice against Hans Zimmer.
