  • Always new insights

This always broadens my perspective and helps to guide next week's decisions. Today's guest was more of a bull than I would have expected, but good to know they out there.

  • Great Job Todd!!!

This is a great review of the commodities and what is going on in the farming community. A great review of techinicals and fundamentals in the marketplace. Truly leading the way in agriculture communications. Appreciate the work and allowing those not in immediate radio or cable network range to keep a pulse on what is going on in the greatest agriculture community. Go Illini!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Apr 23 | Commodity Week
Q: How might geopolitics affect the market in the near term?
Geopolitics, especially around the Strait of Hormuz, could support energy prices and influence fertilizer costs, creating risk premiums that buoy grain prices even if fundamentals turn modestly bearish.
Apr 23 | Commodity Week
Q: What is the current status of planting in the panel's view?
Planting is progressing unevenly by region, with some areas actively planting and others still weather-impacted; the conversation stresses monitoring moisture, frost risk, and the need to adapt basing and marketing plans as conditions change.
Feb 12 | Commodity Week
Q: Now, let's turn your attention, Ellen, to that acreage figure. When I'm thinking about the corn soybean mix, I usually just say about 180 million acres total. Where do you think it will come in next week from USDA?
We'll probably come in just shy of that 180 million acres of corn and beans, but I think on the bean side of things, the most recent rally will not probably be reflected in the world's numbers that come out of the ag forum, so I think they'll probably stick around 83 and a half, 84 million bean acres.
Nov 20 | Commodity Week
Q: What are the most important factors impacting the commodity markets in the last two weeks?
Jim McCormick discussed the USDA report and China's commitment to buying soybeans as major updates.
Oct 16 | Commodity Week
Q: How concerned are you about trade deals in general?
There is significant concern regarding the lack of sales and the impact on the marketplace if trade issues continue.
