  • Concerns about the accent

Is it possible to find a host and journalist with less pronounced accents? I have concerns that prolonged exposure to heavy accents, as in Platts' podcast, could influence both my own accent and that of my students, which is why I hesitate to use the valuable information they provide.

  • Poor audio

The mixing on mic levels of guests and between episodes is truly rough. Some are like a whisper, others booming. Often this leads me to delete episodes and forego content.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

India's carbon market: from design to implementation
Q: Beyond domestic compliance, how do mechanisms like joint crediting mechanisms and Article 6 carbon markets fit into India's decarbonization strategy?
Indo-Japan JCNs and Article 6 could accelerate deployment of low-carbon tech and mobilize global capital for transformative projects, while emphasizing high environmental integrity and reduced transaction costs to enable broader adoption.
India's carbon market: from design to implementation
Q: What are the key challenges holding back the Indian compliance market today, and how are voluntary market trends shaping expectations for India's compliance market?
Regulatory clarity, MRB credibility, liquidity, and participant readiness are central challenges; voluntary markets are increasingly quality- and integrity-focused, shaping expectations for future compliance market dynamics.
India's carbon market: from design to implementation
Q: Is CBAM already influencing discussions around carbon accounting, power procurement and competitiveness? Do you see India's carbon market helping domestic industry adapt to a carbon-priced global economy?
CBAM is shifting the dialogue from carbon reporting to carbon competitiveness, affecting how companies price and trade, and necessitating cost reductions tied to carbon to stay competitive; the market's evolution will influence investment decisions.
India's carbon market: from design to implementation
Q: How are you preparing for a carbon constrained environment? And do you see the Indian carbon market materially changing investment and operational decisions, or largely reinforcing your existing decarbonization roadmap?
JSW believes the compliance market will reinforce and accelerate their decarbonization roadmap rather than fundamentally altering it, with existing strategies in renewables, energy efficiency, circularity, and low-carbon technologies guiding investments.
El Nino and agriculture: How are Asian rice markets navigating the weather risks?
Q: Ayushi, how are current production risks translating into rice exports?
Exporters across Asia have shown a mixed response, with some origins maintaining optimistic outlooks due to existing stocks and competitive pricing, while others may curb exports to protect domestic supplies. The overall trend suggests continued export activity from major suppliers like India, but with monitoring of monsoon progress and input costs.
