Episode 5 of season 1 is especially relevant in this year 2025.
For those that have previously been naïvely optimistic of the promises of the US government and culture, this series is an excellent deconstruction of those preconceived notions.
It helps to re-wire the brain to be more comfortable with our newly formed distrust of public agencies and disastrous economic structures. It also illustrates that we are not alone in this disillusion, for there are many who caught on before these recent ev... more
Incredibly well researched, insightful, interesting, and at times even inspiring leftist analysis using comics as a launching point to talk about people and our material conditions, our oppressors, our revolutionary heroes, and our compassion for one another. This is an educational podcast but also one of the sincerest discussions on humanity you'll find in a comics or even more broadly leftist broadcast.
As I told this creator, I’m not much of a podcast listener, but I’m hooked on this one. Each episode is engaging, moving, and quite funny. There’s a lot of valuable information, and the show models excellent leftist analysis— here are ways to understand the horrors of our world through comics. The music and sound design are also fantastic. Looking forward to the next season!
Marvelous dissection of horrifying events and how they are further perpetuated through pop culture. Excellent research & context combined with deep comix lore.
This show has found the line between entertainment, education and media criticism - and walks it deftly in every polished, tightly-produced episode. If the modern superhero always struck you as kinda fascist but you can’t help having grown up on them, CAC is right there with you. I have never had a thought or opinion that mattered, so I don’t generally write reviews - but this show’s worth checking out.
