  • Incredible!

This pod is the absolute best podcast I’ve ever listened to. It is everything you’ve ever wanted from an X-men podcast. It’s like talking to friends about X-men the way you’ve always wanted to. My only complaints are that the new episodes aren’t coming out as frequently as I’d like so I’ve finally caught up and listened to all of them and I need more, and I need the original episodes redone longer and more in depth, I feel like there’s so much more to be said about the first 20-30 episodes. Make... more

  • THE X-Men Pod

Goldsmith is an encyclopedia with a mind for continuity and its connections to the real world with an interest in minority voices. This show is funny and honestly something I’ve looked forward to all the time for years now. Make mine Cerebro!

  • Ever since 2018

I’ve been listening for a long time. This podcast is what got me back into the Xmen since I was a kid. GOBLIN QUEEN is my favorite. I even created a character inspired off my mother Yankee Thunder and her evil Variant from another universe THE GARGOYLE QUEEN she rules purgatory a place where public domain heroes go to be forgotten lol. And it’s all because of this podcast and Connor

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 105: Cain Marko (feat. Anthony Oliveira)
Q: Why do you think comic writers decided they had to make Black Tom a bigger villain if they wanted Cain to be a hero?
Making Black Tom a greater villain created a moral penalty for Cain, enabling him to become a hero on his own journey of reckoning with his identity. Their relationship dynamic often forces Cain to confront his own feelings of worthiness.
Episode 105: Cain Marko (feat. Anthony Oliveira)
Q: What would be Juggernaut's favorite brand of poppers?
He would probably like Rush or Jungle Juice. If Tom brought him into a shop, he'd probably just ask for the basics as he might feel uncomfortable in such an environment.
Episode 105: Cain Marko (feat. Anthony Oliveira)
Q: Will Cain and Tom make it? Do they get a happy ending?
It is tough because it's a corporate and social issue. If they ever get a happy ending, it'll be because a straight guy writer wanted to bring it to the forefront, which we hope could happen. Their relationship could be contextualized differently than in the past, but I caution against rushing to conclusions.
Episode 105: Cain Marko (feat. Anthony Oliveira)
Q: What the hell was up with Charles abandoning Cain in that cave in Korea?
Charles didn't know Cain had gained the power of the Juggernaut. He just saw rocks fall, trap his brother in a cave, and then he dipped out and moved back to America. Then after a decade of being presumably missing in action, Cain comes home to find Charles' booby-trapped the front lawn and moved a bunch of teenagers into their house.
Episode 111: Eva Bell (feat. Karen Charm)
Q: What do you think happened to Eva's family after her journey into the future?
Eva cannot bring her future family back because she altered her own timeline, effectively erasing them from existence. This enhances the tragedy of her character, providing depth to her emotional journey.
