  • Thoughtful, Insightful, and Fun!

Been listening since close to the beginning and have been on board ever since. Chad’s perspective (gay, Mormon, dad, therapist, former Marvel Universe handbook writer, etc) lends itself to such thoughtful insight and joyful commentary with friends and colleagues when discussing Marvel’s merry mutants. The focus has been the original silver age team, giving me a viewpoint on them that I haven’t had before.

His work and passion shine through it all and I’m so excited for his work in 2025. Can’... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Iron Man 109-112: Moonrise! With Ho Che Anderson and Shawn Porett!
Q: Ho Che, how did the era's geopolitics influence your reading of these Iron Man stories?
The late 70s context—Cold War tensions, anti-communist sentiment, and shifting cultural discussions—adds a layer of meaning to the conflict with Vanguard and Darkstar, making the political subtext feel integral rather than incidental.
Bonus Patreon Release: Cerise! With DManda Martini and Rukiceles!
Q: How do you see Cerise evolving beyond her initial role as a warrior in Excalibur?
Her evolution could involve deeper ties to Shi'ar politics, Kin Crimson lore, and a future where she has a more defined leadership or advisory role, rather than just being the muscle of the team.
Bonus Patreon Release: Cerise! With DManda Martini and Rukiceles!
Q: What are your thoughts on Cerise and Nightcrawler as a pairing?
We find them to be a playful, complimentary couple with a strong dynamic, though not necessarily a long-term, traditional relationship; their interactions add charm and emotional depth amid the action.
My Mutant Heart: the Promise! Featuring Josh Cornillon and Connor Goldsmith!
Q: What can people look forward to with Mimi Greene and the creators' future plans?
Listeners can expect deeper exploration in issues 2 and 3, with escalating stakes and more explicit development of Mimi Greene's world, along with potential spin-offs and expansions into the Mimiverse and other characters the creators are passionate about.
Bonus Patreon Release: Azazel! With Chuck Austen and Ruthanne Price!
Q: Chuck, do you know the character Madeleine Pryor?
Oh yeah, I know Madeleine Pryor; she becomes a major element in Krakoa-era stories and ties into Nightcrawler and Mystique in complex, retconned ways that expand the Nightcrawler family tree and the Demon's influence in the mutant mythos.
