The path that leads Erik to try and end his life is circuitous and stricken with tragedy and depression. A dark turning point is the sudden and unexpected death of his 18 year-old-son Griffen.
"The pain of being alive" Erik battles crippling depression for decades. It starts during his tenure with the Chicago Bears, and continues throughout the rest of his NFL career and retirement. His condition is possibly attributed to CTE, a brain dise... more

This guy is the worst interviewer. He practically slobbers over his subject.
Jonathan! Stay out of your story!
I have really enjoyed hearing TJ’s story on Cocaine Air. However, I find it troubling that Jonathan does not seem to fact-check anything TJ tells him (If he does, this is not shared with the audience) and instead presents his narrative as unabridged fact. TJ’s stories are captivating, regardless of whether or not they are the full truth; nothing would be lost by asking for proof of whether or not these things actually happened. Actually, in the absence of fact checking or journalistic skepticism... more
Big fan of everything Johnathan has done from the con podcasts to this one. Very well done, and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
With all due respect, hire a real writer. The narration is okay but the narrative is clunky, full of tired cliches and rife with unanswered contradictions. For example, if Erik Kramer (whose career is far from “storied”), has the mental capacity of a six-year-old, how was he able to write what you said was a compelling book?
What was the point of relating the story of Kramer’s use of some quack’s miracle potion to cure a shoulder separation?
Also, your use of present tense to describe past eve... more
Really enjoyed TJ’s stories and story telling. I guess all you can do when you’re an ex con is laugh about it. I think there was a little too much glorifying of his choices and lifestyle by Walton. TJ is clearly smart and could’ve been a billionaire CEO of a legitimate company sans drug dealing. He should have died a thousand times but got himself out of every situation alive. Unfortunately not always the case for his employees and associates. I hope he has found peace with himself and his famil... more
