  • Appreciate you!

Love this podcast and its hosts. I’ve learned so much from like-minded folks about bike lanes, closures, restaurants and politics, and this is filling a gap left by the local news, which tends to be reactionary (even in Seattle).

  • Ugh

Enjoy the newsletter but can’t stand the unbalanced, superficial takes on complex issues facing Seattle. I’ll stick with KUOW for local coverage.

  • Can’t stop talking about this podcast

I find this podcast to be highly informative and enjoyable. Every day there is something I later reference in conversation or pass on to a friend as a suggestion. And I have learned some interesting history and context about local issues. It is perfect for staying informed and connected on a broad range of things in Seattle. I also listen to NPR and KUOW daily and I find City Cast is often more relevant or interesting.

  • too many “bonus” episodes

i’ve been subscribed less than a week and every. single. day. i’ve been fed a “bonus” episode about something entirely irrelevant. look, i’m not naive about a media company needing to make ends meet by doing internal promotion. but this is downright spam, it isn’t thoughtful, and it’s cost the pod a subscriber.

  • Lightweight and totally Seattle proper focused

I agree with the other negative reviews. I enjoy other City Cast shows like for Portland. But the Seattle one seems much lighter weight. At times the hosts do not seem to have completely researched the topic that they are talking about, even when there are articles in the Seattle Times that have more information. I expected and got a very left-wing view of the world, but it is a bit excessive. And do not expect to hear about anything outside the city limits except to say that it is too far and i... more
