  • The city paper of podcasts

I listen almost every morning while I’m getting ready for work. A cup of joe and Claudia and friends keeping me informed and entertained. They do a great job of summarizing local news, suggesting events and restaurants, and apparently having a pretty good time creating a daily podcast. Thanks y’all. It brightens my day.

  • Hard to find the news

It is often difficult to separate the news from the commentary on the Friday News Roundup. I want to be a resident informed enough to feel connected and contribute to everyday conversation. An accusation of “white-liberal racism” on the February 6 edition is an obstacle to that goal.

  • Thank you!

Thank you for using your platform to ask Sen Wyden about his continued arms support to Israel. The safety of Jewish people in Israel cannot exist without the safety of the Palestinians, so to me his answer was empty. He is also responsible for this genocide and we'll never forget.

'Your City Could Be Better': Why Portland’s Considering Hiring a Night Mayor
Q: What are the financial hurdles and governance steps to create this role?

Q: So at the end of your research, you came out basically saying, we need more taxes. Did I?

Q: What is the distinction between employees and independent contractors in this context?
The distinction hinges on control and rights over work conditions and who bears risk; employees typically receive protections and have the right to unionize, while independent contractors operate with more autonomy but fewer protections, and this drives the legal battle and potential for collective bargaining.
