Choral Chihuahua is a podcast in which British choral directors chat about things that matter to them: composers they love, points of technique, classic but also niche choral works, other groups and singers they admire. With a light touch, Eamonn Dougan, Robert Hollingworth and now also Nicholas Mulroy chew the choral cud about how (and why) you do it and what they've learnt along the way. Choral ... more

  • Re-Programme Notes Episode

Oh, the irony! Timing the recording for when the school chucked out their young schoolchildren! Coupled with the poor choice of two people who have such an extraordinary, unnatural rhythm to their speech. “Sammy” is hard enough to listen to ordinarily. Remember, all we have is the audio and can’t see when he is likely to pause or rush headlong into the next sentence. It’s hard work. I used to love this podcast but my love is waning

  • Monteverdi in Lamé

There is so much to admire in this series. I adore the insight and expertise encouched in a relaxed conversational style. The latest episode commenting that if one wishes to perform Monteverdi in lamé whilst suspended from the ceiling made me smile nearly as much as hearing the Whitacre selection again!
