Interesting story. That family is more than a bit crazy. Hope everyone gets therapy, or de-brainwashed. Hope Roen in particular gets therapy. The mom needs some help too….
I subscribed to the binge just to hear the rest of this story and iI was sadly disappointed.
I think Sam Mullins is a great writer. I think the people of Vernon were very passionate but it’s a little frustrating to subscribe to this and have it be such a letdown.
I couldn’t get past the fourth episode. to hear these two cradled, in sincere men have no concern or care about the damage that they did to others? They had zero remorse about how their actions affected other people.

I loved this podcast. Crazy and interesting story. I love the way the podcast host was honest but compassionate about his opinions on the story, and how he wrapped up everything in the end. This story was so different and fascinating to me. I learned a lot about my own views on life/issues and the world around me. So glad I listened.
Omg as a Vernonite this hits home WAY too much. It’s such an honest and embarrassing truth about Vernon! Vernon is a vortex of weird! Our community is an odd place where success and failure coexist, where truth and lies live on the same street! Where what happens behind the door is never what you think and what you think you know, you don’t know. Vernon is the best place to be from!
You did a spectacular job of telling all sides of this astonishing story. Well done!
