  • Went downhill fast

Unfortunately the memoirs were the only thing keeping this pod afloat! Neither of the hosts are smart or interesting enough to be the cultural authorities they think they are.

  • So disappointing

Loved Celebrity Memoir, it was such an original idea! The new podcast feels like a complete copy of the Shameless Podcast - from the premise right down to the show structure!

  • Just No…

CMBX was fun to listen too and I loved hearing about celebrity memoirs from their perspective. But this new podcast is boring and I don’t care about their takes. You had your Niche and then lost it.

  • Bring back CMB

This was my favourite podcast, such a cool concept… and now they’ve just become like every other pop culture podcast. I’m gutted!

  • Absolutely not

If you want to hear your two dumbest friends try to regurgitate a few articles to you with zero context or nuance, this is the show for you. Two “comedians” who are shockingly unfunny, with one of them, Claire, occasionally spewing offensive comments.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Noticing Lukas Gage’s Memoir, the AI Bubble, and Wendy Williams
Q: What does the quote mean to you?
I think I can relate to that part of myself that has definitely said some shit on TV or in an interview where I'm like, 'What is wrong with me?'
Noticing Lukas Gage’s Memoir, the AI Bubble, and Wendy Williams
Q: Why now? 30 is famously kind of young to write a memoir. What made you want to do it now?
I've always wanted to write a book. It was a thing that I dreamed of when I was a kid lying to my journal. I thought now is a perfect time for a premature memoir.
Alyson Stoner is Semi-Well-Adjusted
Q: Why did you decide to write your memoir at this stage?
Alyson wanted to address the ongoing issues surrounding child performers and contribute to conversations about mental health and advocacy for better protections.
Mara Wilson is Where She is Now
Q: Mara, if you had a week, what would be from your memoir?
I've got a workout class in five hours and I'd hate to miss it.
Yvie Oddly is All About Yvie: Into the Oddity
Q: Did the interview process for the book reveal any surprising patterns or narratives?
Yvie mentioned that revisiting the conversations revealed aspects of their past they had never recognized before, including discovering the origins of their name.
