  • Bad Noticings

What have you noticed today? I noticed that CMBC was a significantly better podcast that highlighted Claire and Ashley’s talents. GN feels like a superficial pop culture news podcast that waters C&A down. Bring back CMBC and maybe inject a few GN in every once in a while. Moral to the story? Sign with Vox, sell the soul of what made your podcast so great.

  • 😕

These are my fave podcasters but GN is so up and down. Some eps are super interesting, but bummed at how much I skip through these topics or skip the ep all together. Glad we have the CMBC backlog. Will continue to check in in hopes the vibe of GN will become more consistent. Maybe ditch the recs…

  • Sigh…

Thoroughly enjoyed CMBC. GN does not make good use of any talent possessed by the hosts. The new format has devolved into a vapid, ill-informed, high-speed gab fest with the word “like” repeated constantly. It is mildly funny on occasion, but mostly it is not interesting and I find myself skipping through episodes in search of something on point.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Noticing Beckham Family Drama, Chiara Ferragni’s Legal Troubles, and West Virginia vs. B.P.J with the ACLU
Q: What can people do who are not going to the Supreme Court necessarily as a lawyer to help trans people right now?
Invest in creative projects, tell stories of trans folks, and advocate for their rights.
Noticing Lukas Gage’s Memoir, the AI Bubble, and Wendy Williams
Q: What does the quote mean to you?
I think I can relate to that part of myself that has definitely said some shit on TV or in an interview where I'm like, 'What is wrong with me?'
Noticing Lukas Gage’s Memoir, the AI Bubble, and Wendy Williams
Q: Why now? 30 is famously kind of young to write a memoir. What made you want to do it now?
I've always wanted to write a book. It was a thing that I dreamed of when I was a kid lying to my journal. I thought now is a perfect time for a premature memoir.
Alyson Stoner is Semi-Well-Adjusted
Q: Why did you decide to write your memoir at this stage?
Alyson wanted to address the ongoing issues surrounding child performers and contribute to conversations about mental health and advocacy for better protections.
Mara Wilson is Where She is Now
Q: Mara, if you had a week, what would be from your memoir?
I've got a workout class in five hours and I'd hate to miss it.
