  • Mental Health without the Faith

I was looking for a Christ-centered, faith-based podcast that coheres with mental health. This is not it. There are helpful worldly tips on mental health, if that’s what you’re looking for.

  • Dump the Shame.

Unfortunately, Christianity and shame go hand in hand. They shouldn’t, but they do. Steve was a pastor and tried to kill himself. I was a pastor and tried to kill myself. It’s not as rare as you think. Getting to the root of shame has been HUGE for me (and I’m not there yet), and Steve’s material continues to help.

  • Big dose of hope

Steve's been there and done that. He's lived some of the tough stuff. Despite reasons to be cynical, he delivers healthy doses of hope each episode. This podcast is a practical pick-me-up.

Listen and let the healing balm - the compassion - of Steve’s own experience flow into your wounds. These aren’t pious platitudes, folks. Steve’s words are born from personal anguish, from someone who walked, and continues to walk the... more
